The AS (Aerospace) Difference
Why does Vyrian follow the aerospace standards for electronic component parts testing and distribution? Because they are comprehensive and stringent.
The AS series of standards are the quality management systems standard applicable to distributors that supply to the aviation, space and defense industries. These standards include all of the standard ISO 9001 requirements, but build upon ISO 9001 with additional industry requirements specific to the world’s most critical applications.
“The” Standard for Parts Distributors
AS9120 is a quality management system for independent distributors that work with the most critical customers in aviation, defense, and space industries. The AS9120 standard is the brainchild of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). Click here to see the certificate
Vyrian’s Quality Management System incorporates the latest revision of the AS9120 /ISO for the distribution of electronic components. We undergo routine surveillance audits to maintain our certification. As part of our policy, all suspect, fraudulent or counterfeit parts will be reported to industry sources. Our most recent certificate for registration to AS9120 can be accessed by clicking the image/link.
The Anti-Counterfeiting Standard.

The “Common Sense” Standard.
Every single supplier handling your electronic components should be certified to ESD 20.20 at a minimum. This standard ensures that your parts are always handled in an environment that protects its electrical properties and integrity every step of the way.
ANSI/ESD S20.20 is the multi-industry standard for the development of Electrostatic Discharge control programs that protect today’s increasingly sensitive electronic components, assemblies, and equipment from costly ESD damage and reduce down-time.
Vyrian uses the standard’s control methods and guidance to protect electronic devices under test down to 100v (class 1a) or less.
Industry Reporting
Industry reporting is a key part of being a good citizen in the electronic components industry. Sharing data on bad parts and bad actors helps everyone stay safe and play fair.
Vyrian is a member of The Government-Industry Data Exchange Program or, GIDEP. GIDEP is a cooperative effort to exchange research, development, design, testing, acquisition and logistics information among government and industry participants. GIDEP seeks to reduce or eliminate expenditures of time and money. The proper utilization of GIDEP data can materially improve the total quality and reliability of systems and components during the acquisition and logistics phases of the life cycle. The proper utilization of GIDEP data can materially improve the quality and reliability while reducing costs in the development and manufacture of complex systems and equipment.
